Linda Gallery is proud to present “The Myth of the Present World - 现 世神话”, a compelling duo exhibition featuring the works of celebrated sculptors Wu Shaoxiang and Jiang Shuo. Following its acclaimed debut in Beijing, this highly anticipated showcase arrives in Singapore, offering audiences a thought-provoking exploration of modern society through the lens of contemporary sculpture. The exhibition will be held at Paragon, Level 1 Main Atrium, from March 21 to 30, 2025.
In The Myth of the Present World, Wu Shaoxiang and Jiang Shuo employ their signature wit and craftsmanship to reflect on modern cultural landscapes, social identities, and the transformation of traditions. Featuring over 25 bronze and stainless steel sculptures, the exhibition intertwines ancient Chinese mythology with contemporary narratives, challenging perceptions and redefining the language of Chinese contemporary sculpture.
This exhibition presents a visual dialogue between past and present, East and West, mythology and reality. Wu and Jiang’s works are infused with traditional Chinese symbols—mythical creatures, mandarin ducks, auspicious clouds, and zodiac figures—reimagined in contemporary contexts. Their sculptural narratives invite viewers to reflect on modernity’s complexities and the ways in which cultural memory shapes our present world.
