Linda Gallery will present WU MO REN ZHE Sculpture Art Exhibition, a solo exhibition by acclaimed Chinese contemporary sculptor Ren Zhe, from 2 to 15 September 2026 at Paragon Singapore, Main Atrium, Level 1.
The exhibition brings Ren Zhe’s distinctive sculptural language back to Singapore, highlighting his continued exploration of strength, discipline, resilience, and the philosophical spirit of the warrior.
Known for his monumental human figures and dynamic compositions, Ren Zhe often portrays warriors suspended between movement and stillness. Muscular bodies, flowing garments, weapons, and commanding gestures create an immediate sense of physical power. Yet beneath their heroic appearance, his sculptures explore something more introspective: the human ability to confront adversity, remain committed to one’s principles, and overcome personal limitations.
For Ren Zhe, the warrior is not merely a figure associated with battle or classical Chinese history. His sculptures transform the warrior into a broader symbol of human character. Courage, determination, discipline, and self-restraint become as important as physical strength.
This approach allows traditional Chinese philosophy and cultural references to enter into dialogue with contemporary sculpture. Through modern materials, monumental scale, and carefully constructed gestures, Ren Zhe creates figures that can appear powerful yet composed, forceful yet restrained.
The exhibition continues Ren Zhe’s ongoing relationship with Linda Gallery. In 2025, his works were presented in a major solo exhibition in Singapore featuring more than 45 sculptures, including a number of monumental works. The presentation introduced a wider regional audience to the scale and philosophical depth of his artistic practice.
With WU MO, Linda Gallery once again brings audiences closer to Ren Zhe’s interpretation of the warrior spirit. Rather than presenting heroic figures simply as symbols of victory, the exhibition invites viewers to consider strength as an internal quality—one connected to concentration, self-control, perseverance, and personal conviction.
Each figure appears to hold energy within itself, as though caught just before or after a decisive movement. This tension between action and stillness becomes one of the defining characteristics of Ren Zhe’s sculptures, giving his figures both physical presence and psychological depth.
Through WU MO, the warrior ultimately becomes more than an image of the past. Ren Zhe uses it to reflect on contemporary human experience: how individuals remain resilient amid change, how strength can coexist with restraint, and how one of the most difficult victories may be the ability to surpass oneself.
