Paintings About the Artist “Yang Mian’s artworks represent a more profound and rational interpretation of visual culture in contemporary society.” In his series of artworks, from ‘Standards for Youth’, ‘Standard Family’, ‘Standards for Chubbiness and Charm’, ‘Standards for Ideal Residential Compound’ and most recent series ‘Standards for Beauty’, to the current latest series ‘Classic’. Yang Mian, a Sichuan contemporary artist, bring forth his artworks to another peak and higher platform. In his earlier series of “Standards”, to his latest series of “Classic”, Yang Mian had breakthrough his own boundaries of creativity and skills; in the subject of his artworks and explore out of his usual media. In his earlier artworks, he expressed mainly two-dimensional image on media liked canvas. Now, he explore to a three dimensional artworks (sculpture), to present the message of his works to the public with a stronger impact.
